The Saudi Civil Aviation concludes its participation in the World Defense Show

The pavilion of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) concluded today its participation in the activities of the World Defense Show, which was organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI). The show was held at the capital city of Riyadh during the period from (6-9) March 2022, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (may God protect him). The Defense Show was attended by various government agencies and major international companies.
 
Over the four days span, the pavilion was honored by the visit of a number of their Excellencies, dignitaries and CEOs of Saudi companies participating in the exhibition, along with those interested, investors and aviation industry specialists from around the world. The pavilion witnessed the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, H.E. the President of the Public Transport Authority, Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, H.E. the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, H.E. the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi, H.E. the Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries, Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, and H.E. the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Eng. Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil.
 
The participation of GACA resulted in the signing of an executive program in the field of civil aviation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by GACA, and the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Executive Program was signed on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by H.E. Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Duailej, and on behalf of the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, by the Transportation and Communications Minister, Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed. Furthermore, the Saudi Air Navigation Services Company (SANS) and the French company Thales concluded a commercial cooperation agreement for the maintenance management system. The system was developed by (SANS), which recently won the Excellence and Innovation Award for the Middle East.
 
During the exhibition, a team of specialists in the aviation safety and standards sector at GACA participated in providing support in evaluating the airworthiness of civil aircraft participating in the air shows accompanying the exhibition, issuing the necessary licenses in coordination with the concerned authorities. This in addition to providing technical guidance to those interested in licenses for civil operation of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) in the the Kingdom’s airspace.
 
GACA pavilion of included Matarat Holding Company, the Saudi Air Navigation Services Company (SANS), and the Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation (SACA). GACA reviewed its strategy between a number of agencies and companies operating in the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to the operating national flag carriers, as well as its efforts to enable digital solutions and emerging technologies.
 
At its pavilion, GACA presented the latest modern technologies in the field of airport and aviation security programs. This in addition to the most prominent standards of security and safety in the civil aviation sector and opportunities for cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
 
 It is worth noting that the World Defense Show, which is the leading global event in the defense and security sector, has showcased the latest defense and security industry technologies in land, sea, air, aerospace and information security. This was accomplished in an ideal environment for communication, innovation and stimulating partnerships, as well as reviewing the capabilities of operational compatibility systems that are among the most important trends in the global defense and security industry.
