His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Mr Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al‑Dailej, has been elected Chairman of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization for the upcoming two‑year term, following the unanimous decision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to assume the Council’s presidency at the 28th ordinary General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization held in Rabat, Morocco.

In the same election, Saudi Arabia also secured membership on six technical committees—Air Transport, Air Navigation, Aviation Safety, Aviation Security, Environment, and Institutional Media & Communications—as well as a seat on the Financial and Administrative Oversight Authority.

Mr Al‑Dailej stated: “I extend my sincere gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, may God protect them, for their unparalleled support and commitment to the Kingdom’s aviation sector. I also thank the members of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization for their confidence in electing us as Chairman for the forthcoming term, and I ask God to help us achieve our aspirations, elevate Arab aviation, and cement its leading role worldwide.”

The Arab Civil Aviation Organization is a specialized agency of the Arab League. Saudi Arabia was among the founding members when the organization was established in 1996. The organization seeks to develop a comprehensive civil‑aviation plan for Arab states, enhance safety, promote cooperation and coordination among member countries in civil aviation, and advance a safe, reliable, and regular air‑transport system throughout the Arab region.
