GACA and the Association of Internal Auditors sign an agreement to implement performance quality assessment services

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) signed today a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Association of Internal Auditors, in the implementation of quality performance evaluation services for GACA internal audit department, with the aim of activating aspects of partnership and cooperation between the two parties, at the headquarters of the General Accounting Bureau in Riyadh.

 

The signing of the agreement was witnessed by Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Anqari, President of the General Auditing Bureau, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Association of Internal Auditors, and Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of GACA.

 

The agreement was signed on behalf of GACA by a member of its Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee, Mr. Saud bin Hadi Al-Buraik, and by the Saudi Association of Internal Auditors, its Executive Director, Mr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Shubaili. The cooperation between the two side comes in terms of governance, risk management, and internal control, in an effort to benefit from the experiences between them in a way that serves the internal audit staff in GACA in particular, and the internal audit profession in general, and enriches the knowledge content of the profession. Furthermore, contribute to the dissemination of the culture of internal auditing and the strengthening of national professional skills in this field.

 

The Saudi Association of Internal Auditors works (according to the agreement) to provide compatibility between the activity of the internal audit department at GACA, with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), which includes the code of ethics and basic principles and the definition of internal audit and international standards for professional practice, as well as assessing compatibility between the activity of the Internal Audit Department and the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) by identifying opportunities to enhance internal audit processes, providing suggestions to improve the effectiveness of the internal audit activity, and providing ideas to improve the activity's image and credibility.

 

It is worth noting that the Saudi Association of Internal Auditors seeks to build and strengthen its relations with public and private sector establishments in accordance with its strategic plan 2021-2025, which was recently approved in its general assembly, with the aim of developing the internal audit profession, and activating its oversight role in the authorities and establishments, in order to achieve the aspirations of the rational leadership and keep pace with the developments taking place in the Kingdom.

 

It is worth noting that GACA is keen to cooperate and coordinate with all governmental and non-governmental agencies within the framework of qualitative partnership; to strengthen the sector, raise performance efficiency, maintain sustainability, and facilitate audit and internal control processes in an effort to benefit from expertise. This in addition to enhancing national professional skills in all fields and raising the level of transparency in the sector.
