The Kingdom chairs the seventh meeting of the Executive Steering Committee for the Cooperative Aviation Security Program

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) chaired the seventh meeting of the Executive Steering Committee for the Cooperative Program for Aviation Security in the Middle East, which was hosted by the Kingdom and was held remotely on May 27, 2021. The Kingdom’s delegation participating in the meeting was represented by the Chairman of the Cooperative Program for Aviation Security in the Middle East, Assistant to the President for Aviation Security Mr. Mohammed bin Saad Al-Fawzan.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of the member states of the Cooperative Program for Aviation Security in the Middle East, representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and a number of international support bodies. The meeting witnessed the presence of 24 participants from six countries, which included Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, as well as representatives from the US Transportation Security Administration, the UK Transportation Administration and the German Federal Police.

 

The attendees praised the achievements made in the Cooperative Program for Aviation Security in the Middle East during the past two years, the pioneering role that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia leading the way in the field of aviation security in the region, and the continuous support for countries to enhance the security and protection of civil aviation from acts of unlawful interference.
