Designated Engineering Representatives (DER)

Description

This service allows the beneficiaries to apply for appointment and renewal of a General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Designated Engineering Representative (DER) in accordance with GACAR §183.37

Pre-Requisites
Meeting the GACA DER eligibility requirements shown in GACA eBook Volume 14 Chapter 7.
Procedure
Initiation, Technical Determination, Interview, DER Designation Number, Certificate of Designation, and Letter of Appointment. Refer to GACA eBook Volume 14 Chapter 7 Section 2.
Required Documents
1.Letter of application addressed to General Manager of Airworthiness. See additional help.
2.A nomination for DER involvement for a specific project.
3.Evidence that the applicant meets all eligibility requirements shown in GACA eBook Volume 14 listed in paragraph 14.7.2.7 (Domestic) or 14.7.2.11(Foreign).
4.Copy of current FAA DER delegation including copies of the current FAA Certificate of Authorization (or equivalent documentation issued by GACA Recognized Foreign NAA).
5.Evidence that the applicant evidence that the applicant meets all of the additional requirements listed in paragraph 14.7.2.9 (if applicable).
6.Proof of fee payment

Additional Help
1.      DER may apply for renewal of his DER Certificate of Designation within 15 days of its expiration date or when changes in scope of approval are sought.
2.      Applications for renewals and changes in scope of approval must follow the same procedures as described for initial DER appointment.
3.      Confirmed payment of all applicable fees is a requirement for an application to be accepted for processing by the GACA.
