 | | | | This urban edifice was finally constructed, after completing the preparation stage that has started since 1983 A.D. Nowadays, it is considered one of the most modern and luxurious airports located in an area reaching 776 square kilometers, in the middle of 120 km urban compounds, stretched between Dhahran southwards, industrial Jubail northwards, at 50 km north-west Dammam and 75 km south-west the industrial city of Jubail. | | The south-east road, leading to the airport, was designed to be an extension to Ibin Khaldoun street in order to reduce the distance for the travelers coming from Dhahran, Dammam and other regions located south of the airport, and heading to the Airport. The Airport's location is known to be the connection between all urban clusters and the Eastern Province through two highways, one is called Abu Hadriyah express road on the location's eastern borders; whereas, SAUDI ARAMCO occupies an area of 250 square kilometers on the southern borders, dedicated for oil drilling and transportation. Airports facilities occupy an area of 43 square kilometers approximately, equivalent to 5.6% of the total area.. | | |
